Our founder’s journey through loss and healing is at the heart of this vision, and it shapes the way we approach therapy for clients from all walks of life.
The Origin of the Name:
The name Changing Tides is deeply rooted in our founder’s own lived experience with grief. After losing her sister in a tragic car accident, she found herself immersed in the kind of sorrow she had only ever understood in theory as a therapist. The experience of grief was not just intellectual or academic anymore—it was raw, personal, and profoundly disorienting. But it was through this painful journey that she came to understand the complexity of human emotion on a much deeper level.
What started as an overwhelming and tumultuous experience of loss gradually became an important source of connection and empathy in her work. She learned firsthand how grief and pain, while deeply personal, are also universal. This understanding allows her to connect with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, whether they are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, or just feeling lost in the complexities of daily life.
